{"id":1473,"date":"2022-05-29T21:22:30","date_gmt":"2022-05-29T21:22:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/renepape.com\/?p=1473"},"modified":"2022-06-23T01:05:08","modified_gmt":"2022-06-23T01:05:08","slug":"elektra-and-turandot-at-staatsoper-berlin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/renepape.com\/en\/2022\/05\/29\/elektra-and-turandot-at-staatsoper-berlin\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8217;Elektra&#8217; and &#8216;Turandot&#8217; at Staatsoper Berlin"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This June and July, Ren\u00e9 Pape will return to Staatsoper Berlin as Orest in Strauss\u2019 <em>Elektra <\/em>and Timur in Puccini\u2019s <em>Turandot<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Led by Thomas Guggeis at the podium, Patrice Ch\u00e9reau\u2019s acclaimed production of Strauss\u2019 one-act opera will also feature Waltraud Meier as Klytaemnestra, Ricarda Merbeth as Elektra, Vida Miknevi\u010di\u016bt\u0117 as Chrysothemis, Gerhard Siegel as Aegisth, David Wakeham as Orest\u2019s Tutor, Renate Behle as Overseer and Confidante, Natalia Skrycka as Trainbearer, Florian Hoffmann as Young Servant, Olaf B\u00e4r as Old Servant and Bonita Hyman, Natalia Skrycka, Katharina Kammerloher, Anna Samuil, and Roberta Alexander as the maids, led by Thomas Guggeis at the podium. Performances will take place on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.staatsoper-berlin.de\/de\/veranstaltungen\/elektra.73\/?spielzeit=2021-2022#event-52876\">June 6, 11, 15, 19, 24<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>An innovative, new production of <em>Turandot <\/em>by Philipp St\u00f6lzl will be performed on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.staatsoper-berlin.de\/en\/veranstaltungen\/turandot.10340\/\">June 18, 22, 25, 29, July 3, 8, and 10<\/a>. Joining Mr. Pape in this thrilling cast will be Elena Pankratova as Princess Turandot, Siegfried Jerusalem as Emperor Altoum, Yusif Eyvazov as Calaf, Aida Garifullina as Li\u00f9, Gyula Orendt as Ping, Andr\u00e9s Moreno Garc\u00eda as Pang, Siyabonga Maqungo as Pong, David O\u0161trek as A Mandarin,\u00a0 under the baton of Zubin Mehta.
