The performance is the opening of the 2017 International May Festival, and includes highlights from <em>Tannh\u00e4user<\/em>, <em>Lohengrin,\u00a0Tristan und Isolde<\/em>, <em>Die Meistersinger von N\u00fcrnberg,<\/em>\u00a0and <em>Parsifal<\/em>. Patrick Lange leads the Hessisches Staatsorchester Wiesbaden for this sold-out performance.<\/p>\n<p>Program notes:<\/p>\n<p>Great Wagner voices will kick off the festival season in Wiesbaden with a gala concert dedicated to the creator of the \u201cRing\u201d cycle. Catherine Foster, Klaus Florian Vogt and Ren\u00e9 Pape, three of the world\u2019s leading Wagner interpreters, will set the stage for a festival which sees two complete runs of the \u201cRing\u201d being staged during festival month. Klaus Florian Vogt, who is in demand worldwide as Lohengrin, will perform the Swan Knight\u2019s \u201cGrail Narration\u201d, while British soprano Catherine Foster, known internationally for her B\u00fcnnhilde (amongst others in the current Castorf-\u201cRing\u201d in Bayreuth), will interpret key scenes of Wagner\u2019s protagonists Elisabeth (\u201cTannh\u00e4user\u201d) and Isolde (\u201cTristan und Isolde\u201d).
