March Performances at the Berlin State Opera

René Pape returns to the Berlin State Opera this month, in two of his signature roles. Mr. Pape sings the role of Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte on March 12, with Anna Prohaska as Pamina, Peter Sonn as Tamino, and Elin Rombo as the Queen of the Night.
He later returns to the role of Gurnemanz in Parsifal, March 20, 25 & 28. Andreas Schager sings the title role, with Wolfgang Koch as Amfortas and Waltraud Meier as Kundry. Daniel Barenboim conducts, for this production that is both designed and staged by Dmitri Tcherniakov.
