Teatro alla Scala Recital

René Pape will present a solo recital at Milan’s prestigious Teatro alla Scala on June 5.  Accompanied by pianist Camillo Radicke, Mr. Pape will perform a selection of works by a diverse list of composers.  He begins the program with Mozart’s “Die ihr des unermesslichen Weltalls Schöpfer ehrt,” followed by a selection of lieder by Wolf and Schubert.  The second half of the program opens with the French mélodie  “La Chanson de Maître Floh” by Meyerbeer. Mussorgsky’s “Mephistopheles’ Song in Auerbach’s Cellar – Song of the Flea” sung in French, and a selection of songs by Sibelius round out this evening of music.

Mr. Pape’s 2017 summer season continues with a gala concert at the Hungarian State Opera, conducted by Jonas Alber, on June 10.
