‘Boris Godunov’ on PBS’ Great Performances at the Met

On February 6, The Metropolitan Opera’s recent production of Boris Godunov will appear on “Great Performances at the Met” featured on PBS.

A signature role of Mr. Pape’s, he garnered great acclaim in this esteemed production by Stephen Wadsworth, with Operawire writing:

“As Boris, Pape reprised his commanding portrayal of the tormented Tsar. After 10 years, Pape’s interpretation seems to be getting better and his instrument continues to possess the same power and grit of that first series of Met performances.”

This television broadcast will also feature the talents of David Butt Philip as Grigory, Maxim Paster as Shuisky, Aleksey Bogdanov as Shchelkalov,  Ain Anger as Pimen and Ryan Speedo Green as Varlaam with Sebastian Weigle leading from the podium.
