November concerts throughout Europe

On November 8, René Pape is a featured soloist at a Gala Concert, marking the 50th Anniversary of the Antonín Dvořák International Vocal Competition in Karlovy Vary. He is joined by several laureates of the competition, including Adam Plachetka, Roman Janál, Kateřina Kněžíková, Joo-Anne Bitter, and Nicholas Davis. Mr. Pape sings the arias “Ella giammai m’amo” from Verdi’s Don Carlo and “Le veau d’or” from Gounod’s Faust, with conductor Libor Pešek leading The National Theatre Orchestra. Pape joins a spectacular roster of colleagues and the Munich Philharmonic for a concert performance of Act 1 of Wagner’s Die Walküre on November 13, at the Philharmonie im Gasteig. Valery Gergiev leads the performance, which also features soprano Anja Kampe and tenor Johan Botha. He then joins the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich and conductor Charles Dutoit in performance at the Grosser Saal, featuring Rossini’s Stabat Mater. Soprano Simona Saturova mezzo-soprano Marianna Pizzolato, and tenor Benjamin Bruns are also soloists for these concerts, which take place November 18, 19 & 20
